Christmas Shoeboxes

Good News. Great Joy.

This year we are collecting shoeboxes filled with Christmas gifts for Operation Christmas Child and local charity Snowdrop Project.

Operation Christmas Child is a project run by the relief and development organisation Samaritan’s Purse, which seeks to show God’s love to children around the world. Snowdrop Project is a Christian charity based here in Sheffield which supports women who have been rescued from human trafficking. Many of these women have children for whom Christmas can be a difficult time.

We are excited to be able to bless children across the globe through this international initiative but also to make a difference in the lives of families on our doorstep.  Please consider joining us in making a box for a child who may not otherwise receive any presents this year.

Boxes can be made for either boys or girls in the following age brackets: 2-4yrs, 5-9yrs & 10-14yrs.

Please consider including the following items:

Toys; dolls, toy trucks, stuffed animals, harmonicas, yo-yos, skipping ropes, balls and puzzles.

School supplies; pens, pencils, sharpeners, crayons, felt pens, ink pads and stamps, notebooks and writing pads, colouring and picture books.

Hygiene items; toothbrush and toothpaste, bar of wrapped soap, comb or hairbrush.

Other items; hat, cap, gloves, scarf, sunglasses, hair accessories, jewellery, wind up torch and wrapped sweets (with a sell by date of at least March 2015).

Please do not include the following:

Used or damaged items, toy guns, play soldiers or knives, chocolate or other food items, liquids or lotions including bubbles and medicines, anything of a political, racial or religious nature, marbles or sharp objects, glass containers, mirrors or fragile items, clothing other than listed above.
