Time with Jesus Guide – Day 1: Our God is a Faithful God

In the midst of pouring out his heart to God about the pain, trials, and trouble he has faced, the author of Lamentations stops to remind himself about God’s continual, daily goodness in his life.  In the same way, it’s helpful for us to meditate on the truth of God’s goodness especially when we are going through difficult circumstances.  In hard times, our emotions can deceive us, and either they will rule us, or we will stand on the truth of God’s word about who He really is.

Lamentations 3:21-26

As you read, ask yourself these questions:

  • What does this passage tell me about God?
  • What does this passage tell me about myself?
  • How can I apply this passage to my life?
1. Pray the verses above back to God, putting them in your own words.
2. Ask God to remind you of ways He has shown His faithfulness in your life in recent months.
3. Tell God in what ways you need to know His faithfulness now.
4. Ask Him if there is anything else He wants to tell you.
5. Pray for someone else in your life that needs to know God’s faithfulness.
