At Antioch, we want to demonstrate our love for the people of our Sheffield in tangible ways. On 13th November, we launch our annual campaign of generosity called Be Rich. It is based on Paul’s exhortation found in 1 Timothy 6:18 —

‘Tell them (Christians) to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others.’

Our desire is to practically demonstrate God’s great love for us by partnering with and resourcing local charities who already do such a great job serving the people of Sheffield. It’s a simple, practical way for us to love our neighbour and make Sheffield a better place to live. To be a part of Be Rich. We’re inviting you to join in by making a one-off gift of £30. Our goal is to raise at least £3,000. 100% of what we receive will be passed on directly to these charities.

This year, we’re partnering with the following charities who do an outstanding job serving our community. We asked them how we could help and this is what they shared:

Who they are:

Handsworth Food Bank provides emergency food parcels for families and individuals in the S13 area of Sheffield. As a Trussell Trust foodbank, its clients are referred to the foodbank by statutory and non-statutory agencies, organisations and charities across Sheffield , such as social care, schools, CAB and Age UK.  The foodbank is run by volunteers and relies completely on donations of food. The money would be used to purchase shortage food items.

Pray: For continued financial and food donations to help serve those in need

Give: £30 of food would purchase enough food to cover multiple families during emergencies.

Pray: For safety for staff and volunteers. A successful launch of Lincoln Court

Give: Towards the costs of setting the project up with basic essential items.

Go: They need volunteer counsellors as well as other roles. Please speak to us if you would like to volunteer
